The Change Framework is intended to assist managers and staff to deliver change that can bring about better outcomes for patients, service users and staff. It brings together the best available guidance and HR practice knowledge to assist leaders and staff at all levels to take responsibility to improve service user and staff experiences.
The Change Guide contains step-by-step guidance and templates to implement a Change Framework that can be used by local teams and services. It also signposts users to where they can get additional help.
The Guide outlines all of the important elements that need to be focused on to deliver change well in one place. These include guidance on working with people to better understand their needs, supporting on-going engagement and also the change priorities that will be required to create a healthy culture and environment for change.
The Guide has drawn on many sources, literature, policy documents and resource materials and the document is designed to support staff at all levels to become change leaders in health and social care services. This work is supported by a literature review completed by the Centre for Health Policy and Management, Trinity College Dublin: Understanding Change in Complex Health Systems – a review of the literature on change management in health and social care 2007–2017.
